Memorable Weddings of Bollywood

After an eight year long courtship came the much awaited moment of this hush-hush couple’s extravagant wedding. The marriage was held with much ado in both Catholic and core Maharashtrian style but the real crowd had gathered at their wedding reception which included almost every big shot from Bollywood.
Genelia looked beautiful in a Rity Kumar designed lehenga and Riteish Deshmukh was an eye catcher in his classy black sherwani.
Almost all the invitees had come dressed up in their desi best. Juhi Chawla arrived in a white pink and orange sequined salwar suit while the hip and urban Jiah Khan donned a sober pink saree. The Bacchan Parivar added to the glam of the event and Aishwarya was seen in a beautiful blue and green Manish Malhotra number. Sushmita Sen seems have gained a few extra pounds but looked stunning in a shimmery golden saree. The sizzling duo of Saif and Kareena arrived together dressed in a white Indian ethnic wear and a sea green sequined saree respectively.
The odd ones out of this beautifully dressed crowd were Kiran Rao who looked like she had come for a casual get together sporting a simple salwar suit and her trademark glasses. Zareen Khan on the other hand seemed over dressed for the event in a bright yellow saree and electric orange ‘air hostess’ style blouse.

Abhishek Bacchan and Aishwarya Rai:

They supposedly fell in love while shooting for Umrao Jaan and Abhishek proposed to her at the promotional event of his film Guru.
The invitee list was short of some big names of Bollywood including Shah Rukh Khan and that invited a lot of speculations regarding the soured relations between the Khans and the Bacchans. The marriage involved some drama too with the news channels splashing pictures of a model Jahnvi who arrived at the gate of Prateeksha and slit her wrist claiming Abhishek was married to her.
Aishwarya’s wedding dress had been designed by her favorite designer Neeta Lulla while her better half’s was designed by Kolkata based designer Sharbari Dutta.
Mehendi played a vital role at her wedding where even the male members of the family had to sport mehendi for the occasion.
Amrita Arora and Shakeel Ladakh:
The wedding was initially scheduled to be held at a public church in bandra but unfortunately the church officials let them down saying they could not block the masses from entering the church during the wedding and that security would be at stake. Thus the wedding had to be shifted to Olive Restaurant Mumbai where the reception was going to take place.
The wedding had Malaika Arora as the Maid of Honour and Kareena Kapoor as one of the lovely bridesmaids. They all donned peach colored Ashley Rebello numbers which were just a little different at the necklines.
The bride was dressed in a bridal number, again by Ashley Rebello; which had Swarovski crystal and rice pearl embellishments.
Susanne Roshan arrived in a printed Roberto Cavalli dress and Gauri Khan looked stunning in a Missoni dress.
They got married in the Catholic style so needless to say; Lara Dutta looked stunning in her petite white wedding gown while Mahesh Bhupati looked suave in his black Tuxedo. The wedding took place in Goa after a short civil marriage in Mumbai.
Their wedding reception party was thrown at Goa’s famous Club Fresh joint at the Candolim Beach. Major tennis stars including his Davis Cup team members Leander Paes and Rohan Bopanna were present at the wedding.
From Bollywood only some close friends of Lara were invited like Riteish Deshmukh, Dia Mirza, Celina Jaitley , Raveena Tandon and Priyanka Chopra and the media was strictly kept at bay.
